Zendaya Chronicled Her Hospital Trip After Cooking Accident Resulted in Stitches

It seems that Zendaya can do just about anything. She’s a superstar actor with an incredibly fashionable past, and did we mention that she’s kind of hilarious?! Alas, we regret to inform you that despite her continued success in just about everything else, the Euphoria star has yet to conquer the art of cooking. 

She shared of her struggles in the kitchen via a series of Instagram Story posts on Wednesday. It all started with a close-up of her finger, which was wrapped in gauze. “See now this is why I don’t cook,” she captioned the photo.

Unfortunately for Zendaya, gauze apparently wasn’t enough, as she later shared a photo from what looked to be a hospital. In the image, it looked as if Zendaya was mid-stitches. “Update,” she wrote alongside the photo. She later returned, sharing a selfie with her newly stitched-up finger. “Baby’s first stitches,” she shared. “Back to never cooking again.” 

As Buzzfeed notes, Zendaya didn’t have to handle the hospital visit alone. One of her photos included a tag for friend and assistant Darnell Appling, who also joked about what happened via his Instagram Story. “Never a dull moment with @zendaya no pun intended,” he wrote.

Despite the traumatic incident in the kitchen, Zendaya’s week wasn’t entirely horrible. On Tuesday, she was nominated for a 2022 Emmy. Fans will have to wait until September to see if she wins Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Euphoria, but it’s not entirely out of the question. ICYMI, she won her first Emmy for her portrayal of Rue back in 2020. 

It remains to be seen whether Zendaya will follow through on her promise to never cook again, but this isn’t the first time she’s joked about a life mishap on social media. Back in February, she cracked a few jokes regarding the moment she tripped in Rome. She even shared a few fan memes.
