Laura, which was upgraded Wednesday to a Group 4 hurricane, is envisioned to make landfall around the southwestern border of Louisiana and the southeastern border of Texas someday late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been questioned to evacuate their households, as forecasters anticipate a storm surge of up to 20 feet, which they consider “unsurvivable.”
